Fresh Expressions Area Strategy Group

The Lincolnshire FEAST (Fresh Expressions Area Strategy Team) is an ecumenical group of practitioners, strategists and senior Church leaders whose aim is to see the heart and truth of Christianity made accessible to every person in the county through enabling the planting of fresh expressions of church to complement the mission of our existing churches. We are conscious of the widening gap between the Church and much of society and are keen to reverse that as we seek to establish new Christian communities among those who are currently far from church and possibly belief. We are responsible to the senior church leaders of the county within Churches Together in all Lincolnshire (CTAL) for our activities to make sure we are well integrated into and connected with the total life of the Church in the county. There are many FEASTs established around the UK – the Lincolnshire FEAST was one of the first to begin and was initially chaired by Bishop John Saxbee.

There are three main areas of activity we feel we need to concentrate on at present:

Prayer – for the mission of the church, for each fresh expression team, for the work of the FEAST and for more leaders to emerge
Leaders – we want to encourage the churches to enable those with leadership gifts and a sense of Godly adventure to emerge, be recognised, supported and deployed to begin new communities of the faith
Communication – of the vision for the effectiveness of fresh expressions of church and existing churches both working in mission, of stories of fresh expressions of church being established and lives changing, of research results that will aid strategy

District Link with South India

Did you know that the District has a partnership link (along with the Diocese of Lincoln) with two Dioceses in the Church of South India?  Our link is with the Diocese of Tirunelveli and the Diocese of Tuticorin-Nazareth, both at the very southern tip of India, and over the years we've learnt and prayed about church life in India.  You can read about the link on the new website
