Wolds Methodist Centre Opening

The Methodist heritage in the Lincolnshire Wolds received a major boost recently with the opening of the Wolds Methodist Centre

Developed on the site of over 175 years of Methodism in the village of Scamblesby, which is nestled in typical Wolds countryside between the market towns of Horncastle and Louth, the Centre was opened recently at a rededication event at which Rev Dr Jonathan Hustler, former Superintendent of the Mid Lincs Circuit and co-instigator of the scheme, gave the address. The Centre recently received a grant award from the J W Wright Trust and also benefited from a District Advance Fund grant of £7,000.

The Centre will be available for quiet days and seminars, a base for walkers using the nearby Viking Way and for tourists exploring the area. It has been refurbished to a high standard providing flexibility of use and will also feature Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty interpretation, footpath and natural heritage information and car parking.
